The People’s United Party strongly condemns the inexcusable deplorable and unparliamentary conduct of the Prime Minister that occurred at yesterday’s sitting of the House of Representatives. . The Prime Minister’s behavior, and his deliberate and repeated use of derogatory and demeaning language  aimed at members of the Opposition is not only inappropriate parliamentary conduct, but is also an insult to the Belizean People. When the Prime Minister chose to engage yet again  in vicious  name calling, using  terms which are vulgar and malicious,, this  not only demeans the  highest office in the land, but it also reflects poorly on his party as the government in office.   . When the proceedings of the House of Representatives arrive at    a point where control is being lost it is the Speaker, using the standing orders, who must restore order.  The Opposition, therefore, calls upon the Honorable Speaker to require the Prime Minister, at the next sitting of the House of Representatives, to tender an apology to the Members of the House on the Opposition side and to Belizeans for his disrespectful behavior, and to take appropriate measures to ensure that such conduct does not occur again.
