Roe Group, BCC & Atlantic Bank win back to back in Interoffice basketball

The Roe Group, Belize City Council, and the Atlantic Bank posted back to back wins when the 2010 Interoffice basketball competition continued at the Belize City Center on Monday 12 July.

In Game 1, the Roe Group of Companies arrested the Police 54-39. Roe Group’s Mark Swift top scored with 18 pts while grabbing 4 rebounds and Francis ‘Righthand’ Lemott added 13 pts, grabbing 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Deron Gentle led the Police with 12 pts and grabbed 9 rebounds dishing out an assist and blocking 3 shots. Maurice Martinez added 9 pts, snatched 3 rebounds and 4 steals, handing out 3 assists.

This win came back to back to their 68-62 win vs. KHMH on Sunday when Glenstone Linares hit 3 treys to top score for Roe with 16pts, grabbing 4 rebounds, dishing out an assist and stealing the ball. Again Francis ‘Righthand’ Lemott hit 2 treys to add 15 pts while grabbing 2 rebounds and 4 steals and handing out 2 assists. Roe’s captain Dave Apolonio drained in 3 treys to add 13 pts.

Norman Humes led KHMH with 16pts, capturing 8 rebounds, handing out an assist, blocking a shot and stealing the ball 3 times. Ryan Miller added another 12 pts and grabbed 11 rebounds.

In Game 2 on Monday, the Belize City Council bottled up Bowen & Bowen 57-46. CitCo’s Kenroy ‘MVP’ Usher top-scored with 15 pts, grabbing 7 rebounds and 3 steals while dishing out 2 assists. Joshua Jones added 14 pts, grabbed 2 rebounds and handed out 5 assists. Milton Flores led Bowen & Bowen with 11 pts and grabbed 4 rebounds, while Wayne Jones added 10 pts, snatched 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

This win was back to back to their 65-57 win over the National Fire Service on Sunday, when Joshua Jones top-scored with 4 long treys to finish with 22 pts, grabbing 5 rebounds and stealing the ball twice. Kenroy ‘MVP’ Usher hit 2 treys to score 21 pts, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out an assist.

Fireman Tyrone Palmerston drained in a trey to lead the Firefighters with 19 pts, grabbing six rebounds and handing out 2 assists and Kenroy Roca added 16 pts and grabbed 7 rebounds.

In Game 3 on Monday, Atlantic Bank shut down Guardian/Housing 49-45. Justin Wade top-scored with 14 pts, grabbing 2 rebounds and handing out an assist, while Andrew ‘Head’ Staine also had 14 pts, grabbed 2 rebounds and blocked a shot. Guardian’s Bernard Felix top-scored the game with 22 pts, grabbing 3 rebounds and 3 steals, while Dwayne Davis added 13 pts, snatched 4 rebounds and 2 steals.

The win came back to back to Atlantic boys’ 46-40 win over the BEL Megawatts on Sunday. Darwin ‘Dawgy’ Eligio drained in 3 treys to score11 pts while capturing 3 rebounds and Andrew ‘Head’ Staine added 10 pts and grabbed 4 rebounds. BEL’s Brandon Cadle scored 10 pts, grabbing 8 rebounds and Hershell Armstrong added 8 pts and grabbed 10 rebounds.

In Sunday’s Game 3, the Police handcuffed the Youth for the Future 50-38, Adrian Flores leading with 18 pts, grabbing 4 rebounds and 3 steals while handing out 2 assists. Maurice Martinez added 12 pts and snatched 3 rebounds while handing out 4 assists. Youth for the Future’s Dwayne Davis led with 21 pts, grabbed 24 rebounds and blocked 2 shots, while Fenton Ross hit a long trey to add 8 points.

In Game 4 Sunday, undefeated Tuff e’ Nuff Tours blew out B.W.S.L. Pressure 72-40. Ashton Edwards scored 5 treys to lead with 28 pts, grabbing 3 rebounds and 4 steals. Densmore ‘Wable’ Edwards hit 2 treys as he added 26 pts. BWSL’s Lawrence ‘Teach’ Young scored 8 pts and grabbed 3 rebounds, while Benson Matthews added 7 pts and grabbed 11 rebounds.

In Game 5 on Sunday, Guardian / Housing did better by a 62-51 win over Alamilla’s Furniture / Cellular Plus. Bernard Felix scored 3 long treys to lead with 23 pts, grabbing 4 rebounds and handing out 2 assists. Dwayne Davis added 11 pts and grabbed 11 rebounds. Alamilla’s Marlon Middleton scored 12 pts handing out 2 assists, while Darwin ‘ Wenabe’ Zuniga added 11 pts and grabbed 7 rebounds.
