Dear Editor,
When I hear the plight of the Belize City Council with respect to the spaces at the Lord Ridge
Cemetery it amuses me although it is no laughing matter. As someone mentioned…now the Cemetery!
Again my fellow Belizeans, this comes as no surprise. The UDP City Council has failed Belizean residents in the management and administration of this city’s affairs in every aspect. Zenaida Moya (who was elected a UDP Mayor) and her councillors have totally ruined this city.
This inept and corrupt bunch has failed us miserably in the financial management of our city, they have ruined our streets, and they have been incapable in the handling of our garbage situation and many other areas that have been highlighted on a weekly and daily basis by the various media houses.
So today when we hear that the city is experiencing problems with spaces at the cemetery, it really does not shock anyone. This is a problem that has been there for several years. But the incompetent bunch at City Hall have had no time to address this issue as they have been busy fighting among themselves and addressing other issues that would better “gratify” them.
Well, may I suggest that Mrs. Moya Flowers and her incompetent bunch please find a solution to the cemetery space problem very quickly as at the rate our people are being murdered we don’t have much time. Time is of the essence!
Perhaps the Mayor should have gone to learn more about crisis management or cemetery planning wherever she went rather that going to learn about Women in Politics. She is already a pro in that field.
Our city residents deserve better than this. It’s already appalling the rate that our brothers, sisters and children are being murdered to have to be worrying now where to bury them. We call on the Prime Minister to address this situation and pronto!

Has anyone read the Crooks Report; especially in the Government? Anyone?… Anyone?… Anyone? Has any of the Recommendations made in this report being initiated?

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) offered for agreement, a memorandum of Understanding giving the BPD the E trace software and access to the BATFE internet based firearm tracing data. I believe that this very important offer has not yet been operationalized. What is the GOB waiting for?
