Matura charged for the murder of Helen Yue

Today 18 year old Jermaine Matura who is accused of the robbery and the murder of 14 year old Helen Yue as well as the shooting her father was brought before the courts on the charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm, conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and wounding.

Initially, Matura was brought before the family court when police said he was 17 however it was later determined that he was in fact 18 years old.   Once this was confirmed, he was taken to Magistrate’s Court where he was arraigned and remanded into custody until 5^th September.
