Carnival time…

The higher ups in the Police Department are without a clue when it comes to fighting crime. They literally have nowhere to turn cause their Minister probably learned all his crime-fighting tips watching reruns of the Keystone Kops  and Andy Griffith and that sure isn’t helping them any. It’s been a bad time for the Police Department and an even worse time for the rest of us poor suckers out here. Of course even if the top brass were to form a delegation to pay a visit to the Minister with the purpose of finding out if there is any plan in place which will guide them and the rank and file of Police officers in making some inroads into the escalating crime, they may find a less than attentive minister. I’m telling you, since we all know how much this minister loves Carnival. LOL…If Da Noh Soh!

They’re listening…

At a meeting held at Independence Hall on Saturday, a long-standing PUP member revealed that his phone conversation with a member of the PUP Executive had been monitored and recorded by the Police Department. This is a true story. This is no joke. Special Branch personnel all over the country have been instructed to monitor the activities of members of the People’s United Party. Remember the visit of the Israeli team recently – well they trained members of the Police Department to monitor and record phone conversations and to intercept texts and e-mails. Mini-Mugabe claimed at the time that all that was being done in the interests of national security. Boss, that’s bull. Belize’s national security is under no threat whatsoever to the effect that phone conversations between members of the PUP would have to be recorded. That’s just bogus. We know that they have the technology to do it. We know that they have been trained to do it and we know that they are doing it. And if they can do it to members of the PUP, then they can do it to any other person designated as a ‘person of interest’ by the Prime Minister/Prime Dictator of this country. That means public officers in high places, union officials, members of the Bar, members of the Judiciary, community activists. This is a very serious threat to our democracy and an infringement of our rights. But yeah, this is the Barrow administration we’re talking about, right? They’re known for that…If Da Noh Soh!

Yeah, they’re listening, and we know exactly where and how they got access to phone numbers and to the switch to monitor calls. Yup, nothing is sacred when you’re dealing with this crew. When activating a new customer, BTL should probably put in a little disclaimer to be signed at the bottom stating – I hereby acknowledge and accept that my phone calls can and will be monitored by this company under instructions from its political masters. I waive all my rights in this matter and give Dean Barrow all access to matters in my private life revealed through my phone calls, texts, e-mails, etc. Hell, maybe it’s there for all I know, written in extremely fine print way down at the bottom of the application forms. BTL is facing its own worries right about now, as employees get wise to the fact that they were duped by the first son and the first wife second lady when it comes to their entitlement through the employees’ trust. Remember we told you that employees were threatened with immediate dismissal if they attended the meeting called by Dean Boyce. Well that was true. Department heads received their instructions from Karen Bevans who received her instruction from Anwar and Lois (by the way, Bevans has been heard expressing her discontent with the fact that despite her years of experience and work history, she has to take orders from the loan shark with a license, but that’s another story for another time.) Now though, employees are saying – maybe we should have gone to that there meeting since this crew sure as hell isn’t doing anything for us. And then there’s a lot of anger being generated by the latest round of firings and victimization. New President of the Union, Paul Perriot who has gotten wise to the disingenuousness of Mr. Barrow, will soon be transferred down South where they believe he can’t cause any trouble. The wife of Dean Molina, who was replaced by Mr. Barrow’s daughter, has also been given the ax, we hear, and there are more terminations soon to come.

Wutless Lois…

Remember when first wife second lady Lois, wutless attorney extraordinaire was defending the Mayas for her ex-hubby, then Leader of the Opposition Dean Barrow? Hell, the woman literally wept at the plight of her Mayan brothers and sisters. Then when bald ex-hubby was on the other side of the table, so to speak, she jumped over as well and was vicious and insulting to the Mayas…no tears that time from Loisy, just cultural slurs and taunts. See Loisy goes where ex-hubby goes, and I’m pretty sure it’s because of the cheddaz and not because of his good looks or any other prowess that I can’t mention here. Yuck. Anyway, reports are circulating that Lois is up to her old tricks again (no new tricks for the old dog). Remember when Lois defended Christine Perriott against BTL when it was still in private hands? She was Christine’s comrade-in-arms, willing to battle with her client in the trenches and so on and so forth. Well see, Christine won her case against BTL and is due big compensation, but now BTL is owned by Lois’ ex-hubby, so to speak. See the lady’s conundrum? According to a rumour Christine’s may have to go up against an old comrade-in-arms and could end up with only a portion of what was awarded to her….seems someone wants her to sign an agreement to that effect. Hmmmm! That damned Loisy changes sides and personas more than,  well you figure out the rest,,, If Da Noh Soh!

Social Security Snafu…

Word coming out of SSB circles is that the lady in charge, the one who is reaping her reward for work done during a certain inquiry, has just about worn out all the goodwill bestowed on her by her political masters. Under her watch, it seems, things have gone from good to bad to worse, or at least that’s what’s being said in the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Prime Minister. Now the political crony of inquiry fame has to explain why she has refused to approve security during the night at SSB’s offices countrywide, after a recent burglary netted the crooks SSB checkbooks and a stack of SSB ID cards. It may mot seem like such a big deal to the uninformed, but word is that the Prime Minister is taking it seriously since the theft will compromise the SSB database and undermine the integrity of the SSB ID card as national identification. This on top of all the other messes inside the SSB under her watch doesn’t add up to such a positive outlook for my buddy from the inquiry. But hey – easy come, easy go right Merlene? If Da Noh Soh!
