The Belize Rural High softball team returned home today to showers of congratulations after competing in the III Central American and Caribbean Scholar Games in Panama.
The team won silver, after playing three games against Panama, Guatemala and Venezuela. Overall, the team scored a total of 39 runs and only gave up 21 runs.
Belize defeated Guatemala 12-3, hammered Panama 11-7, but slipped with Venezuela who won 7-4.
The Technical Commissioner for the Softball Competition in Panama was Jude Lizama, who became the first Belizean to be appointed a Technical Commissioner at any International Competition level.
