Kachief Thomas scored 52 points in game 1

Belize City, Friday, December 9, 2011

The Sadie Vernon Technical High School boys will represent the Central Division at the National Secondary Schools basketball championship hosted by San Pedro High School at their auditorium this weekend.

Sadie Vernon won their 3rd basketball championship by running over the St John’s College boys in both games of the finals series at the Belize City Center last Thursday and Friday.

In Game 1 on Thursday night, Kachief Thomas led Sadie Vernon with a monster 52 points in their 85-70 win over SJC. Game 2 began positive for SJC, but their rebounding and defense lacked composure and formation, allowing Sadie Vernon to kill them with second-chance points, drive-ins and 3-point shooting.

Kachief Thomas led his team with 36 points to a 94-79 win over SJC. SJC’s MVP Devin Daly played a magnificent game, at times like a one-man army. Daly scored 35 points. Point guard Tarrique Middleton was also excellent, with 13 points.
