A family residing in the Japan area of Ladyville is mourning the murder of their loved one, 29 year old Elvis Cowo who from all indications lost his life in a senseless attack on Monday night.
Reports are that Cowo was inside his home until his boss arrived and called for him. He went out in response, but there is where he stumbled into his armed attackers.
It is not clear what caused an altercation between Cowo and a group of men on bicycles, but the family says the men warned Cowo to get off the street. When he ignored them, and walked towards his boss’ vehicle, they retaliated by attacking him and stabbing him.
The family was alerted by Cowo’s boss who ran into the house to say that the young man was being brutally attacked by two men. By the time the family reacted, the men had already ended their assault and hurriedly rode off.
Cowo was left on the ground, bleeding profusely. He died before he could be taken to the hospital for treatment.
The family believes the attackers were just idly looking to cause trouble, since a lot of young people in their community have very little positive things to engage in.
Police have so far detained a 21 year old for questioning, but no one has been charged yet.
