UDP caught meddling with Voter’s List

UDP Councillor Candidate Severo Guerrero Jr. caught red-handed tampering with voter’s list inside the Elections & Boundaries office in San Pedro

There are already sufficient reasons to believe that the UDP Government is doing all it can to steal the upcoming elections. With three of its most senior political operatives sitting in the Elections and Boundaries Commission, including former UDP Candidate Alberto August as Chairman, no wonder rampant abuse of the system is going on.

There are reports that Elections offices have been opening late hours of the night, even past 11:00pm, to facilitate new registration of persons. Moreover, the mass voter registrations of immigrants who are obtaining citizenship are also worrying. This is totally unprecedented.

Now, there is more grave evidence of collusion between Election officials and UDP Government agents that undermines the integrity of the elections system. A photo obtained by the BELIZE TIMES shows a UDP town council candidate inside the Elections Office in San Pedro, meddling with what looks like the voters list! Yes, the plot to steal the elections may very well be that blatant.

Elections and Boundaries officials are the only ones allowed to have access to the database. This is so because accessing the database means accessing the list of voters. If in the wrong hands it means voters’ names could be added, deleted of transferred from one area to another. This is why a photo showing UDP Candidate Severo Guerrero Jr. tampering with the Elections & Boundaries computer is very alarming, and must be explained by officials of the San Pedro Elections and Boundaries Department.

Why is UDP Councilor candidate Severo Guerrero Jr. at the helm of the Voters’ Database with notebook and pen in hand? How is it that the authorized person to handle the files allowed access to them to a Councilor candidate? Will she keep her job or will legal charges be laid upon both alleged culprits?

San Pedro Voters must also ask themselves: is this the kind of candidate you want in your Council? Is this the kind of candidate that you will vote for and allow to run your town? If he gets there by underhanded means, imagine what he’ll be capable of when in power.
