WAIT A MINUTE, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS GUATEMALAN PRESIDENT. DAMN HIM, AND I HOPE HE BURNS IN HELLL. GUATEMALA , HAD PROBLEM WITH BELIZE FOR SOO MANY YEARS. SINCE I WAS A LITTLE GIRL . IF I WAS THE PM OFF BELIZE, I WOULD SEND ALL THOSE FREAKING ALIENS BACK HOME AND PATROL BZE TERRITORY DAY & NIGHT. AHA GUATEMALAN PEOPLE, ARMY ETC CAN KILL, KIDNAPP, BEAT UP, ABUSE OUR BELIZEAN PEOPLE AND BELIZEANS JUST HAS TO SWALLOW EVERYTHING. BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT STAND FOR THEM SELFS. WELL, GUATEMALA PRESIDENT SHOULD ZIP HIS DAMN MOUTH & STOP TALKING SHIT. BECAUSE HE SHOULD BE THANKFULT HAT THE UDP GAVE BELIZE CITIZEN TO HIS OWN PEOPLE (5000). BUT U SEE HE DOESNT SAY A DAMN WORD ABOUT IT.I USED TO WORK FOR A POLITICIAN IN BENQUE AND LUIS MELENDEZ WOULD FILL UP APPLICATION TO ALIENS AND WOULD SEND THEM TO ADAM CASTELLANOS SO HE CAN SIGN/ACCEPT THAT THEY HAVE BEEN RESIDING BZE FOR 5 YRS AND IT WAS NOT TRUE. SOO, MY PEOPLE THATS WHY WE DO NOT HAVE JOBS IN BZE BECAUSE F&^KING POLICITIANS ARE THE ONE TAKING IT FROM U. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT NOBODY. THEY CARE ABOUT HAVING A LAVISH LIFE AND POCKET ALL THE $$$ THEY CAN. SO MY PEOPLE STAND UP AND DO NOT LET NO POLITICIANS BRAIN WASH U AND KEEP YOUR VOTE FOR YOUR SELF. DAMN F*&^ING POLICITIANS

well, PM after been in office for 4 yrs, he said JOB DONE. yes aha he’s right JOB done because he , his family, friends and staff has pocketed all the peoples money. I’m so ashame to hear all those bad comments about what the parties are doing to BEAUTIFUL BELIZE. I wished that the FATHER OFF THE NATIONS ( MR GEORGE C. PRICE) had never pasted away. HE was the only loyal & honest person that left belize in a good shape. but all those UDP pigs were only hungry for position & money, BUT, stupid belizean people had to vote for damn UDP. COME ONNNN MY BELIZEANS IT’S TIME FOR A CHANGE AND DON’T LET NO FU*&*NG POLITICIANS BRAIN WASH YOU.

Belize could back it currency with gold, it would be the only country in the world, Investment from all over the world would flock there for the safety of the currency. It would be come the swiss bank of the western world Problem solved.

Also drop the landing fees to one dollar per flight to any airlines offering to increase flights by 50% in the first year, BZ would become the hub of CA air travel and would boom time the hotels and visitors for those with layovers

Many times the difference between success and failure is a new paradigm. Belize’s current political leadership needs a new perspective. Clearly, the Hon. Barrow and his party have been unable in the fourth year of their 5-year mandate, to devise solutions to our nation’s social and economic woes. Anyone not blinded by purely partisan politics can easily see that the Hon. Francis Fonseca has a national renewal agenda that bodes far better for our people than the suffering we have been saddled with since 2008. God has blessed Belize with the human and natural resources necessary to afford every citizen an acceptable standard of living and quality of life. He provided us with a visionary political leader in the person of the Rt. Hon. George Cadle Price, the Father of Our Nation. Mr. Price saw well beyond the barriers our nation faced and relied on unity, social justice and a peaceful revolution to develop a national psyche of growth and development. The result was systematic change and sustained improvement that resulted in the Belize we now have; a developing country poised to propel its economy forward into five years of peace and prosperity.

All indications are that enough people still believe in the People’s United Party. As a result, we are expecting that the party will get another opportunity this 2012 to reinforce the perennial perception that the PUP is the backbone of this country. Without a doubt, there will be obstacles, many of them like icebergs, with the danger more hidden than visible. However, the Hon. Francis Fonseca has shown throughout his years in politics that he has the statesmanship, diplomacy and decisiveness to overcome the challenges that will inevitably arise.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Hon. Francis is our only recourse. If you are reading this today, don’t consider it an accident, you were meant to read an opinion that is honest and true. Hopefully, it will also have an impact on you.

After close to 5 decades in Belizean politics, the Hon. Barrow should know better than to place his eggs in the IMF basket. Clearly a sign of desperation, he continues to ignore country cases that show that the IMF may not be the answer. Gavan Tittley and John O’Brennan in the Guardian (UK) told us clearly December 29, 2011 that, “Ireland has done what the IMF wanted, but where is the reward?Despite ‘exceptional’ efforts to meet IMF targets, Ireland has a rising deficit, sustained emigration and 15% unemployment.” The skipper of Belize’s finances has to have more vision and fiscal intelligence than turning over the reigns of the country’s monetary management to international bureaucrats, who, quite frankly, possess a lot of data but still don’t comprehend enough of the social and cultural underpinnings of a nation’s economy to be able to offer any effective solution. For me, the choice is clear, the Hon. Fonseca comes from a tradition of vision and social justice. I for one will put my eggs in that basket. The rest of my countrymen should too.

Hey Jacko, it seems you are not so keen to phrase your own 25 cents question correctly. Without going into reformation of your question, do you mean the price of commodity higher or lower than what, or is the value of the currency lower or higher than what!! Brushing that asinine aside, let it be known that the the price theory in economics determines free , open market economies, competetion, level and strength of our democracy and capitalism if you are truly Keynesian which is laudatory. However , I am much more than a Keynesian because, unlike you who read only one book, I have stood on the giant shoulders of my economic, philosophic, and cosmological predecessors to arrive at the real economic truth which enables me to spot heresies in written documents but not their motives. Now ,you Jacko have provided this motive for this paper. Since you are either a motivated or paid gunslinger for the segregated Mennonite communities in Belize, let me wise you up. You know precious little of the price theory otherwise you wouldn’t ask such a simpleton question. Speak the truth Jacko. Didn’t the Mennonite ask for two Ministers for agriculture and fumed to stop rice production because he said he couldn’t compete with Urugayan imported rice. So he didn’t go to school and study “price theory” ? Why should the government restrain trade to please him and other Mennonites who are being enriched by tax payers’ money beyond their wildest dreams ? Isn’t it true that you Mennonites receive these uncontested government food contracts unfairly? There are many other illegalities I would like to expose on this and other topics but this is not the forum yet. But Jacko, if you had a futures contract for rice or any other commodities, you would have protected your future delivery price and obtained parity insurance to protect your currency from devaluation or the ravages of inflation. Now , examine the terms of the contract with government and examine the variables involved to include exporting to other coutries rather than the small captive belizean market. Please Jacko, if you mennonites are so thinned-skin, why don’t you obtain an education higher than primary school? Answer me if you are, otherwise, i will understand your deficiencies.

Just come clean and give me adequate notice so I can get a jump start on running, as this spells getting out of town, because I am already up to my head with struggling with the everyday life in Belize. I dont see anyone wanting having a chance. I see in town big people going under and the bank taking everything they worked for. Your Excellency Mr. Perez Molina: In the early 1960s, three Belizean chicleros from Benque Viejo Del Carmen, Pedro Can, Peto Yacab and his younger brother Chendo strayed into Guatemalan territory. The trio were spotted by a Guatemalan Border Patrol. Peto managed to escape but Pedro and Chendo were captured. Sometime later Pedro asked to go to the toilet and also managed to escape but as he ran East, In the distance he heard shots. Chendo never appeared. I was just a kid and now an old man, but I will never forget seeing a devasted mother drenched in tears. She never asked for justice, all she begged was for some how that the Guatemalan Authorities would find a way to tell her where the body of her youngest son lay, so that she could go and bring him home and be given a decent and christian burrial. The Guatemalan Govt. never responded. Chendo also left a youn grieving wife, two baby boys and another on his way. Mrs. Juanna and Mr. Roque when to the grave never knowing where the body of their son lay. Peto is already dead I understand but, Chendo is still survived by his sisters Valeriana Gongora and Arcelia Pachecco. Chendo’s three sons are also still alive. Mr. President, maybe you might want to do justice to this family. I am sure the perpetuator of this heinious crime will never be brought to justice but you may compensate the surviving family. I understand that Pedro is also still alive. Late last year, Guatemalans from Melchor, attacked an Belizean custom officer in Belize side of the border and would had killed the officer with his own gun had the gun been loaded. We did not hear anything from your govt. Sir, It is well stablished that your people have the temerity of firing upon our border patrol.
